THOR AVAS Presents Solution for Micro Electromobility in Amsterdam Exhibition
On June 8 and 9, THOR AVAS participated in Micromobility Europe, Europe's leading exhibition for Micromobility in Amsterdam, showcasing its Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS). The AVAS project is a sound branding solution that enhances the micromobility safety by warning pedestrians so they could hear the approach of electric vehicles.
THOR AVAS joined the exhibition with the world's leading electric bicycle, moped, and scooter manufacturers, providing visitors with an opportunity to connect with passionate innovators. The AVAS project was demonstrated through electric scooters, where guests and participants could interact with the technology and listen to the sound on a test track.
The patented technology reads data from the CAN/UART data bus of the vehicle and dynamically plays the sound of tracks consisting of several complex layers of audio tracks. The sounds can be recorded or selected through the application, allowing sounds created by the sound designers to play on almost any speaker.
The THOR AVAS system makes electric vehicles audible within 5 seconds, regardless of their speed, enhancing the safety of pedestrians and other road users.
Pedestrian alerting and e-scooter safety are essential considerations in developing a reliable pedestrian safety system. One of the key components of such a system is the AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System), which helps enhance pedestrian safety by providing audible warnings to alert pedestrians of approaching vehicles, including e-scooters.
Micromobility Europe was a fruitful two-day event, providing a rich program of speakers and networking opportunities with industry founders, investors, observers, and technologists from over 500 cities worldwide.
