NEW AVAS SOUNDS. Coming soon!
Thor's synthetic sounds are divided into 2 categories - EV and AVAS.
EV sound packs include a number of futuristic presets that allow you to take a new look at the simulation of the exhaust of electric vehicles - from the sounds of arcade games to the sounds of transformers.
Each sound pack simulates the sound of the vehicle engine at different speeds, turning on / off the ignition, and also emphasizes the moment of acceleration or braking of the vehicle to receive the proper feedback from the gas pedal for the driver.
All sounds are developed taking into account the regulations, and with the help of the application - you can easily adjust the volume.
In November, the company will release an additional package of synthetic sounds for the EV line, which will include sounds such as:
- Thor Green Relax / Sport - calm and harmonious sequences, aimed primarily at increasing the visibility of transport.
- Steampunk / Cyberpunk - sounds reflecting the styles of engines on powerful steam traction and on overloaded bass synthesizers.
- Beast - A growling sound with an "animal" character, created on the principle of morphing samples of wild fauna and dynamic, synthetic sequences.
- Stark - Technological and stylish sound.
The simulation works by reading data on wheel speed from the CAN bus, equating them to the RPM of the engine, as well as the position of the gas pedal. A special firmware script analyzes incoming data and determines the fact and intensity of vehicle acceleration or braking, applying parameters to a dynamically changing set of sound samples in real time.
AVAS
A number of experiments and tests were conducted to develop packages for the AVAS direction. Tests were conducted in a silent chamber, during which sounds of a simulated environment (City / Park) were played, and against this background, experts tested the effect on the visibility of approaching vehicles with and without an installed AVAS system. The obtained results were superimposed on signals with different frequency range ratios to identify the most important frequencies and the dynamics of signal change to obtain the required degree of visibility at different vehicle speeds.
The idea was to obtain the same expert reaction time to an approaching vehicle, regardless of its speed and without going beyond the 138 EU regulation.
AVAS sound packages work on a similar principle to EV, however, they do not provide additional sound for vehicle acceleration and braking moments. Also, AVAS sound packages themselves change the volume and frequency balance depending on the speed of the vehicle, completely fading at speeds over 40 km/h, where tire noise reaches its peak and additional acoustic design is no longer required.
In November, Thor will release 3 AVAS packages for cars:
Green Relax, Green Sport and Stellar.
