Mercedes-Benz AVAS: the sound of the future for electric vehicles

AVAS is a pedestrian warning system for an approaching electric vehicle. This technology has become mandatory for all new electric vehicles sold in the European Union after July 1, 2019.

Mercedes-Benz was one of the first automakers to come up with the decision to implement AVAS in their new electric vehicles.

Or it will turn off completely, since the sound of tires at high speeds is already audible to others.

The company has created sounds that match each car model. For example, the Mercedes-Benz EQ series electric vehicles make sounds that resemble the rustling of leaves or a stream. In this case, the sound changes depending on the speed of the vehicle.

Mercedes has also paid attention to AVAS sound design to match the overall design concept of the car. The new electric Mercedes emits a futuristic sound as it zooms down the road.
